Mr. Ali Mahir received the Maldivian Amateur Radio License and Call Sign ‘8Q7AM’ from the Communication Authority of Maldives (CAM) in 1994.
He began DXing on CB radio in 1988 and has received membership from various foreign radio clubs. Mr. Mahir worked as a Radio Officer at the Male’ Coastal Radio Station from 1992 to 1995.
His hobbies include contacting friends via CB and amateur radio, as well as electronics and photography.
